The Christian Woman: .Set Free

For centuries, Christian women have wrestled with difficult questions:

Are women called to silence in the church?

Did Paul restrict women from teaching?

Or has church history misunderstood Scripture?

In The Christian Woman...Set Free, Gene Edwards presents a bold and deeply researched answer grounded in Scripture, church history, and the life of Christ.

This groundbreaking book traces the story of women in the church from ancient Greece through the early church, the Reformers, and into the modern era. Edwards examines how cultural attitudes, mistranslations, and theological traditions shaped views on women-and challenges readers to reconsider what the New Testament truly teaches.

Through careful exploration of key passages such as:

- 1 Corinthians 11 and 14

- Ephesians 5

- 1 Timothy 2

Edwards offers a compelling reinterpretation rooted in historical context and linguistic insight.
