About this title

Synopsis

""Christianity Versus War: A Presentation Of Scriptural And Christian Teaching Upon The Subject Of Carnal Warfare And The Taking Of Human Life"" by Daniel Crouse Moomaw is a book that explores the relationship between Christianity and war. The author presents a thorough examination of scriptural and Christian teachings on the subject of carnal warfare and the taking of human life. The book argues that Christianity is fundamentally opposed to war and violence, and that Christians should strive to live in peace and harmony with one another. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which explores a different aspect of the relationship between Christianity and war. The first chapter provides an overview of the book's main arguments and introduces the reader to some of the key concepts and ideas that will be discussed throughout the book. The second chapter examines the biblical basis for the Christian opposition to war. The author looks at various passages from the Old and New Testaments that speak to the issue of war and violence, and argues that the Bible clearly teaches that war is not in line with God's will. The third chapter explores the history of Christian pacifism, from the early church to the present day. The author looks at the lives and teachings of various Christian pacifists, and argues that their example provides a powerful witness to the idea that war is not compatible with Christian faith. The fourth chapter examines the practical implications of Christian pacifism. The author looks at how Christians can live out their opposition to war and violence in their daily lives, and offers practical advice for those who wish to follow the path of nonviolence. The final chapter offers a vision for a world without war. The author argues that Christians have a responsibility to work towards peace and justice in the world, and that this work begins with a commitment to nonviolence and a rejection of war. Overall, ""Christianity Versus War"" is a thoughtful and thought-provoking book that challenges readers to think deeply about the relationship between Christianity and war. It offers a compelling argument for why Christians should oppose war and violence, and provides practical guidance for those who wish to live out this commitment in their daily lives.Together With Experiences Of Conscientious Objectors In The World War.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
