About this title

Synopsis

A careful look at the history of Christian and Islamic conflict and its impact on the world today and in the futureHow can Christians make sense of the events of September 11 and the ongoing conflict with Islam? This book presents a thoughtful and sympathetic study of the background of the current conflict and provides a context for moving forward with optimism. It refers to the terrorist attacks but does not focus on them. Instead, the author reminds readers that as people with a sense of history, Christians need to look back and see that today’s events are nothing new—they are merely the latest episode in the struggle between Christianity and Islam that has lasted for nearly 1,400 years. The book includes:• A look at how the Islamic/Christian conflict began and how it has evolved through the centuries. • An analysis of the fall of the Ottoman Empire after World War I and its impact on society, religion, and politics today. • A look into the future at how the Bible reveals this intra-faith conflict will finally be resolved.
