Synopsis
Christmas is a magical interlude: long, dark nights, the promise of snow, roaring log fires, and homes filled with the aroma of mulled wine, mince pies, and other treats. It's the time when our homes take center stage as we invite friends and family to join the celebrations. Part of the fun lies in transforming our homes for the holiday season. "Christmas Inspirations" begins by exploring four adaptable decorative themes. Traditional Style focuses on the rich reds, greens, and tartans often associated with Christmas, and gives them a modern twist. Nordic Style celebrates the traditions of the Scandinavian Christmas with its emphases on natural materials. Contemporary Whites and Contemporary Brights show that a love of Christmas and a desire for chic modernity can go hand in hand to great effect. Other chapters focus on gifts, cards, decorations, and, of course, the tree. -Rose Hammick and Charlotte Packer pool their inspirational talents to offer a host of fresh and imaginative ideas. -Covers all aspects of preparing your home for the holiday season, from creating a decorative theme to making your own cards and gifts, with photographs by Joe Tyler. -Includes decorations to make with children.
