ABOUT THE AUTHOR Karen Lafferty is a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an artist, a singer and now a children's book author. For the past 30 years her life has been kept full painting watercolors and doing other art projects. The notion of writing a book came to her when her first granddaughter, Kala, came into the world. With her child-like humour as an inspiration, several stories began to develop, which are being published as a series under the title "Draco's Tales." "Everyone should give writing a children's book a try," says Karen. "What better way is there to express oneself than through the eyes and imagination of the young? I think it brings out the child in even us old folks..."
