Christmasland: Recollections

Feel the warmth and delight of Christmas past in this lushly illustrated book capturing the nostalgia, charm, and sparkling beauty of vintage holiday decorations.

Ralph and David focus their wit and camera lens on the charming vintage decorations that have made Christmas so memorable over the years. This enchanting collection captures the wonder and beauty and will rekindle the child–like wonder that Christmas has inspired over the years.

Things that will be included:

•Celluloid light–up Santa's, snowmen, music–box churches, angel tree–toppers (with foil wings and glowing halos!).

•Five–and–dime nativity sets (from tiny plastic ones to the "fancier" models!).

•Odd ceramic figurines. These used to be found lurking around in homemade snowdrifts atop TV sets and on martini carts all across the country.

•Putz houses the little glittery paper villages that sprung up from the 30's to the 60's

•Pinecone people elves, pixies, angels, snowmen, Santa's.

Ralph Del Pozzo grew up in Hudson Valley, New York. He has been a lifelong photographer and collector, and his photographs have appeared on hundreds of books.

David Highgrew up in Miami and has been designing for more than twenty years. His work has been featured in several magazines, including ID and Print, and recognized by the AIGA, Type Director's Club, Art Director's Club, and the Broadcast Design Association.

High Design was established in 1994. The studios, in Greenwich Village and upstate New York, are closely guarded by a vicious French Bulldog named Linus.
