Christy: The Collectors Edition with Fan Letters and the Author's Personal Photos

Christy-Catherine Marshall's masterpiece and first work of fiction-has sold millions of copies, topped several literary guild selection lists since its 1967 release, and been staged as a musical, play, motion picture, and two TV series. It is a timeless story of how one person can make a difference.

Based on the experience of Marshall's mother, Leonora Wood, the novel tells about Christy Huddelston who left home at nineteen to teach school in the beautiful but poverty-stricken Smoky Mountains. Christy's faith in God and love for the people is challenged by hardship, disappointment, and primitive surroundings, but God's grace and incomprehensible love remain evident through it all.

The Collectors Edition of Christy features more than sixteen pages of never-before-published memorabilia from the Catherine Marshall estate, including original manuscript, character sketches, and journal notes. Readers will enjoy letters to and from Catherine, her editors, and fans. Photographs connected to the Christy story also are printed for the first time.

Catherine Marshall wrote more than twenty nonfiction books, including the best-sellers A Man Called Peter and To Live Again. She is also the author of more than one hundred articles and two best-selling novels, Christy and Julie. Her love for God and her love of writing were born at an early age, and remained fervent until her death in 1983.
