The work of Richard of Devises, an English chronicler and monk of St. Swithin's House at Winchester. Covering the first three years of King Richard's reign, it is an account of events in England and the Holy Land during the Third Crusade. Translated and edited by John Allen Giles, an English historian specialising in Anglo-Saxon language. Bound in quarter calf with paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Marks to the board and minor loss to the corners. Internally, firmly bound.
