Matching vintage softcover editions, all with the original 95¢ cover price, uniform trim size, classic cover artwork, and Pauline Baynes illustrations adapted for Collier Books. Three volumes are First Printing copies (stated), from 1970 (The Magician's Nephew; The Horse and His Boy; The Last Battle). The remaining volumes (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; Prince Caspian; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; The Silver Chair) are early 1971-1975 Collier printings. Collector's Note: Complete early Collier Books softcover sets from 1970 are increasingly scarce, especially with uncreased spines and clean interiors. This set is notable for containing three First Printings (The Magician's Nephew; The Horse and His Boy; The Last Battle), all in unusually bright, unread condition. Collier paperbacks were heavily used by school and home readers, and most surviving copies show significant wear; as a result, early printings in this condition are seldom seen. A desirable and display-worthy Narnia set for both readers and collectors. Condition notes: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Magician's Nephew, and The Last Battle ? Very Good+ First Printing, no spine crease; clean, bright pages. Prince Caspian ? Very Good+; no spine crease; pages clean, unmarked, lightly toned. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe ? Very Good+, slight crease to spine; pages clean, unmarked; lightly toned; covers with some rubbing. A solid, well-preserved vintage copy of LWW title. The Horse and His Boy ? Very Good- First Printing; no spine crease; bright pages; small, faint stain along top page edge (edge-only; interior unaffected). Pictorial wraps very good with mild rubbing and shelf wear. A remarkably well-preserved vintage set; volumes show tight bindings and far less wear than typically found in Collier softcovers of this era. Additional images gladly provided upon request.
