Lord of Tarc does not fight with armies, but with subterfuge and lies that poison the land. In Consort and Princess, Prince Rei works hard with his close aides and his cousin Princess Ilena as Director of Intelligence to block the Lord of Tarc's advances and put into a place a plan to do away with him for once and for all. At the same time, Rei has to deal with the responsibilities of being Regent of Suiran and Mizi learns what it really means to be a princess. Ore, on the other hand, has to learn how to deal with having Ilena as a wife as he also learns to come into his own position within the court of Suiran and leadership of Ryokudo. Can a nightwalker who hates nobles accept that he must become one himself?

Chronicles of Tarc is a journey of adventure, love, and hope in a future when a past has been difficult and bleak. Through effort and perseverance, dreams can come true and "happily ever after" is more than three words when it's walked hand in hand with a true partner and companion.
