The Chronovisor: The Vatican’s Secret Window into Time

What if the Vatican could literally watch history?
That is the central question behind The Chronovisor: The Vatican’s Secret Window into Time, a compelling new book by author Christopher M. Wathen that explores one of the most bizarre, persistent, and haunting legends in modern religious lore.
Based on the mysterious claims of Father Pellegrino Ernetti—a Benedictine monk, physicist, and exorcist—the Chronovisor was said to be a real device that could “tune in” to past events using electromagnetic echoes of time. The story includes alleged collaborations with famed scientists like Enrico Fermi and Wernher von Braun and culminates in a Vatican cover-up that conspiracy theorists believe continues to this day.
The author brings together historical research, conspiracy theory, theological tension, and modern skepticism in a book that reads like Dan Brown meets Ancient Aliens—but written with curiosity, not sensationalism.
Now, with renewed speculation following Pope Francis’s death and rising public interest in suppressed technologies and Vatican secrets, The Chronovisor offers a timely, balanced look at the boundaries between belief, memory, science, and control.
