Collection of nine (one duplicate) real photo postcards showing the massive destruction left in the wake of a tornado August 7, 1917. Cards generally in very good condition with light edge wear and soiling. Each card is annotated with 7 of them stating specific locations including the Presbyterian Church (demolished) , the Hannah residence (badly damaged) , River Bridge across the Arkansas (badly damaged). "Luther Garage Cimarron Kansas demolished by tornado Aug. 7, 1917 During the storm there were 86 people in the garage, all escaped with out injury, the building was constructed of concrete blocks." A nice little photo archive from tornado alley.
