Circle Forward: Building a Restorative School Community

Circle Forward: Building a Restorative School Community is a practical, comprehensive guide for bringing restorative practices into schools. Written by Carolyn Boyes-Watson and Kay Pranis, with a foreword by Nancy Riestenberg, the book offers educators and administrators a rich collection of circle processes designed to strengthen relationships, build community, and address conflict constructively. Drawing on years of work in restorative justice, the authors provide ready-to-use structures for staff, classrooms, and whole-school settings — moving restorative practice from theory into everyday routines. The spiral-bound format is designed for real classroom use, laying flat so facilitators can reference circle plans while leading them. It is a foundational resource for any school working to build a more connected, restorative culture.
