First published by Altemus, the series was issued with DJs & then in another hardcover version with a colorful front paper pastedown; with all titles later reprinted by Saalfield. This is a FIRST EDITION, unknown printing, from 1910 in the dust-jacketed version. The book has tan cloth-covered boards embossed with a design of the boys in red & green , lettered in red to front & spine, in 256 pages + 8 pages of ads for other children's series in rear & frontispiece. Condition is Near Fine: extremely clean, binding strong & straight, hinges secure. Pages creamy white with age-appropriate tanning, heavier around edges, completely unmarked save for old gift inscription in pen dated 1916 to verso of frontispiece. Tiny bump to head of spine & 1 small stain to top outer edge of text block.
