Citizen Soldier: Consent Of The Governed Book Two

The Capitol lies in ruins. At its highest levels, government has been hobbled, leaving no one to fight on behalf of the American people. Chief of Staff Roberts couldn’t be happier. By silencing opposition voices, he has achieved complete control. With his minions firmly in place, his grip on power increases. He has become government without the consent of the governed. But has he made the same mistake as every totalitarian before him? Has he forgotten that the allure of power isn’t limited to the elite? It is, in fact, a virus with no cure.

He allows only the media loyal to the administration to broadcast a stream of never-ending propaganda. He’s chosen the stories, the spin, and every word spoken. They humiliate those Americans holding tight to the ideals that America is still the land of the free. Patriotism is treated as a plague, something to be ashamed of, something used to label you a dissenter, a mental defect, an enemy of the state.

In response to the Capitol Massacre, Vice President Genus, at Roberts’ direction, has called the Citizen Soldiers to action—formalizing their existence and granting them sweeping powers far beyond an average police force. This army of loyalists takes to the streets to ensure safety for all and to carry Eden’s message of unity to every corner of society. But it isn’t unity or safety they're interested in—it’s control they seek. At any cost!

Amid a flurry of new and monstrously egregious edicts designed to strip away what little freedoms the American people retain, the CS is emboldened, answering only to those who believe as they believe.
Now, The Friends of Citizen Soldiers, a new and sickening group is emerging, making it impossible to trust your neighbors, your friends, even your family.

Billy Ash has ascended to the rank of sergeant, where he works to counter the growing power of the CS. While Billy struggles to reign in the Cleveland CS, Jack Stinger maneuvers to ensure the instruments of war his company has been forced to manufacture are rendered harmless, never to be used on an unsuspecting populace.

Can the Stinger family do what must be done to save this country? Can they stop the streets from running red with American blood before this story ends?
