About the Author

Lon Fendall is dean of undergraduate studies at his alma mater�George Fox University, Newberg, Oregon. He met his wife, Raelene, when they were students. They married after Lon studied at the University of Ghana on a Rotary International Fellowship. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in history from the University of Oregon.

Lon has served as a legislative director and campaign manager for U.S. Senator Mark Hatfield, instructor and peace studies director at George Fox University, assistant Northwest director of World Vision, dean of the faculty at Wilmington College, and vice president of academic affairs at Tabor College. He is coauthor of two books: Unlocking Horns with David Niyonzima (2001) and At Home with the Poor with Jean Thomas (November 2003).
