Single sheet printed and written on the recto only. Measures 6¾" x 4". Vertical crease down the middle from being folded, with some light soiling, still very good or better. Issued by the Office of the United States Deputy Marshal for the County of Lancaster at Lancaster to David Stoner of Rapho, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Signed by the Deputy Marshal. Unfortunately, David Stoner was a very common name and so we were unable to track down any specific information about this David Stoner. The best we can say is that if he was called into service around the time this notice was issued, then he was probably in either the 138th or 175th Regiment Pennsylvania Infantry. A nice piece of Civil War memorabilia.
