Power, not sex, is the core issue in sexual abuse. This candid book, written by a professional counselor and recovered victim, is aimed at helping adults claim the power they lost as children.
Defying all the odds, challenging the system that hasn't protected them and facing up to their abusers, the women discussed in How to Claim Your Power prove that sexual abuse doesn't necessarily end a life. Women who openly discuss their tragedies and make a commitment to lead healthy and productive lives are those who reclaim the power and choice that were taken from them as young victims.
A self-evaluation worksheet at the end of each chapter guides the reader in discovering how to apply the power principles in reclaiming her own life.
