Clarke's Commentary: The Holy Bible Containing The Old and New Testaments; Volumnes I through VI; Vol. I Genesis - Deuteronomy, Vol. II Joshua-Esther, Vol. III. Book of Job - Song of Solomon, Vol. IV Isaiah - Malachi, Vol. V Matthew - Acts, Vol. VI Romans - Revelations

Complete six-volume vintage hardcover set of Adam Clarke's monumental biblical commentary, published by Abingdon-Cokesbury Press circa 1940s. An exceptional, crisp set. Condition Details: Issued without a slipcase, and dust jackets are not present. The black cloth hardcovers themselves feature remarkably firm, tight bindings with sharp, pointed corners. The pages are tightly layered and crisp, presenting an unread quality. The gold text on the backstrips remain bright. The interiors are entirely clean with no writing, marginalia, or highlighting. Text blocks exhibit only a slight, natural tanning to the endpapers, consistent with age. Bibliographical Note: This set correctly preserves the author's original textual layout. While the outer spines are sequentially numbered 1 through 6, the internal title pages reflect Clarke’s distinct structural division: Volumes 1–4 span the Old Testament, while Volumes 5 and 6 contain their original historical title pages designated as "Volume I" and "Volume II" of the New Testament. A beautifully preserved, authentic mid-century printing. Extra postage on this one.…
