Charles Spurgeon's advice to aspiring preachers was, "Read admirable commentaries." Indeed, it was Spurgeon who first drew up a definitive list of Bible commentaries that every preacher and student of God's Word should own.

Now classic works on all 66 books of the Bible—including most of the ones Spurgeon recommended—have been collected into this one exciting volume. Though the language has been edited where necessary for the modern reader, the teachings of these master preachers have been preserved, as well as the dignity of their original prose. From John Calvin on Genesis to Matthew Henry on Revelation, you will find the biblical insights of many of Christian history's leading figures within these pages—at a fraction of the cost of buying these commentaries individually. More than an aid to preachers, this is an essential resource for any serious Christian's library.
