Classical Piano Solos - Third Grade (Paperback)

Classical Piano Solos - Third Grade from John Thompson's Modern Course is a collection of 20 classical piano solos compiled and edited by Philip Low, Sonya Schumann, and Charmaine Siagian. Created for intermediate pianists, it brings together carefully selected works by celebrated composers alongside lesser-known treasures that broaden musical exploration.

Printed in standard music notation for solo piano, the collection includes complete sheet music for every selection. The repertoire combines expressive lyrical works, energetic recital favorites, dance-inspired movements, and character pieces, providing variety for regular practice, lesson assignments, personal enjoyment, and performance opportunities. No online media or supplemental digital content is indicated in the source information.

The carefully balanced selection introduces pianists to a wide range of musical styles, historical periods, and expressive techniques represented throughout classical piano literature. Well-known selections such as Burgmüller's Ballade and Rebikov's Playing Soldiers appear alongside rewarding discoveries including C.P.E. Bach's lively Presto and Cécile Chaminade's graceful Piece Romantique. This variety encourages musical expression while offering engaging repertoire suitable for lessons, recitals, home study, and personal performance.
