Clavis Calendaria: Or, A Compendious Analysis Of The Calendar; Illustrated With Ecclesiastica, Historical, And Classical Anecdotes by John Brady. Clavis Calendaria is a comprehensive reference work that surveys the liturgical year, saints’ feast days, and the cultural dimensions of calendar history. The volume compiles ecclesiastical, historical, and classical anecdotes tied to the days of the calendar, offering biographical sketches of notable figures such as Austin, Bede, Jerome, Peter, Paul, James, and Mary, and detailing the origins and practices of major festivals like Christmas, Easter, Advent, All Saints, All Souls, and Holy Days. It also interlaces royal and national ceremonies—Restoration, Gunpowder Plot, Coronations, and Acts of Parliament—with calendar memory, heraldry, and law. Organized around dates, the work reflects on how religious observance shaped English culture and statecraft, and it discusses the evolution of calendrical systems, devotional practices, and the interplay between religion and public life. The text serves as a cross-disciplinary reference for readers seeking historical, ecclesiastical, and classical context within the calendar.",
