A Clean, Well-Lighted Place: March 2013 (Volume 4)

"The dogwood tree is only pretending to bloom."

With the oncoming of spring, A Clean Well-Lighted Place ushers in its own birth, one of language and sound. The journal was founded in 2011 under the guiding aesthetic of cleanliness, and this issue proclaims the constancy of that goal. Each work displays in its own way precision of thought and meticulous crafting of line and language. Now in its fourth issue, it hopes to showcase the freshness of budding poets and writers like Marvin Shackelford, Margo Davis, and Pia Aliperti. Their work is startling and musical, evidence of an exciting literary spring.
