Climate Mobility Justice : Narratives and Visual Politics of the Panicocene

This book explores how the intertwined challenges of climate change and human (im)mobilities are being narrated, governed, and resisted. From media and policies to art and activism, the book investigates the stories we tell—and the ones we silence—about who moves, who stays, and who tries to govern human mobilities. What emerges is a powerful critique of crisis narratives that legitimize fear, repression, and exclusion, and a call for new imaginaries grounded in justice, care, and planetary belonging. Elena Giacomelli is a Postdoctoral Researcher working on the Marie Curie Global Fellowship “PANICOCENE. Reframing Climate Change-induced Mobilities”, based at the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on the themes of mobilities and migration, borders, climate change, ethnography and narratives. She is a founding member of the collective Reimagining Mobilities.

Pierluigi Musarò is Full Professor of Sociology, Culture and Communication at the University of Bologna, Italy. He is the author of several publications in the fields of media, migration, border politics, human rights, performing arts and active citizenship.
