Philip Hornsby-strikingly handsome, debonair-is heir to one of America's leading philanthropic foundations. Hornsby is confident but not haughty, the rare individual who knows what he wants. Preparing to run for political office, he pursues a childhood dream by attempting to climb Mount Everest's sheer vertical wall at 26,000 feet. Seasoned adventurers label this intended route as suicidal.

Ferrington, during her medical residency, works alongside Dr. Nickolas Batiste Kalamatra. Never did she anticipate that the socially awkward physician would follow her to the Himalayas where she was the medical director of the Hornsby expedition.

In this romantic adventure novel, heroism and obligations are stretched to their limit. A battle rages. Whom to choose? Conquest, romance, and intrigue pulsate as the two men try to win Ferrington's tangled heart.

Bart Sobel grew up in Long Island, New York. His career followed two paths.
