It analyses and compares pathological characteristics and clinical features of four genera of renal tumours in order to determine whether it is possible to foretell the nature of a solid renal tumour from physical signs alone. The book also aims to help estimate the life-prolonging value of tumour removal. The author presents his findings from studying the medical records of twenty-one operations performed to remove renal sarcomas from infants and fourteen operations to remove the same from adults. The text also discusses adrenal tumours and accessory adrenal tumours and how to best differentiate between them and renal tumours, as well as the surgical treatment of these tumours.
