About this Item

2 complete catalogues comprising the full library sale of Clumber Castle in Worksop. The first portion was sold on the 21st June 1937 and the 2nd over 4 days from November 22nd to Nov 25th. The 1st catalogue has 34 lots + 33 full page plates, some folding and 2 in colours and includes an Audubon Birds of America and is printed on 58 pages and a hardback. The 2nd catalogue has from lot 35 to 931 has 147 pages starting at page 62 and following on from the 1st portion. It has 7 full colour plates and 13 monochrome. With a number of the plates folding. This is in printed soft card covers, but the Sotheby's green colours that match the 1st cat. Both in Very Good+ condition with a little wear at extremes. We are a small, single-owner business. We have been operating on and off since 1977 and our stock is varied, leaning towards antiquarian and 19th century with the addition of original aquatint and lithographic, or woodcut engravings. Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
