The Coach

A great coach can change a life. —John Wooden

Never Stop . . . Jason Nash knows better than most how your whole life can change in an instant. After a dark tragedy nearly destroys his entire existence, he’s left to pick up the pieces and somehow forge a future for himself. With support and guidance from his friend and mentor, Chuck Garcia, Jason discovers a new path forward and his true purpose in coaching; but after serving as a high school boys lacrosse coach leaves him longing for a new challenge, he receives an unexpected offer to coach for a Division 1 women’s lacrosse program, the Blue Jays, setting him on a life-changing journey.

The transition is rough at first, and some of the players have plenty of bite, so he’ll have to show them that, through his own experience, he might have more to offer than they realize. Jays gotta fly! Does Jason have what it takes to be a true mentor and help the Blue Jays soar?

In The Coach, Joshua Walker weaves an emotionally poignant and inspiring tale about the importance of human connection, overcoming grief, mentorship, and team dynamics with powerful insights, interesting twists, and plenty of humor.

In the end, will Jason discover that, by allowing himself to be open and vulnerable, he can connect on a deeper level with his team and be an even greater coach, changing lives one player at a time?
