Being a coach is complicated business. Winning is important, but there is so much more to it. Coaches are asked to be teachers, disciplinarians, leaders, and collaborators. As important as the Xs and Os are, the greater goa—the heart of coaching—is helping players become responsible, mature adults.
Success begins with the coach, and you will learn the three things you need to know about creating a high-performance organization. The team’s results reflect what you communicate. You communicate through everything you say and do. Self-managed, balanced coaches create resilient teams; a real competitive advantage.
In Coach to Coach, executive coach and consultant Sara Smith teaches emotional intelligence and leadership in a way that provides you with a framework to create high-performance teams.
Great coaches are able to navigate emotions and create poise and self-control in young athletes. Packed with skills and practice drills, Coach to Coach offers a practical path to sustainable success.

About the Author
Sara Smith spent almost thirty years with IBM as a leader, executive coach and consultant. In 2001, she became part of IBM's global transformation team to help orchestrate the transformation of IBM into a premier services company.
Smith left IBM in 2007 and established her own firm, Smith Leadership, which helps athletic coaches, businesses, and nonprofits accelerate success through emotional intelligence, leadership training, and coaching.
Sara combined her business expertise with her passion for sports to write Coach to Coach. It reflects her work with schools in the Southwest, including the University of Houston and the University of North Texas. Watch for her next book about creating high-function athletic organizations.
