Coaching for Success: A Guide to the Art of Life Coaching

You are a coach in someone’s life. They are counting on you to be what they need. Someone who will come along side and help, not by telling them what to do, but by exploring the options with them. They will make the necessary decisions. It is your job to help them investigate the possibilities and give them the freedom and power to choose what’s best for them. This book is intended to give an overview of life coaching. Together, we will explore some of the skills necessary, even practicing those skills and experiencing the joy of watching the triumph of new insights in those with whom you are working. It is a primer, not meant to be comprehensive or exhaustive. Once you have a taste, you’ll be able to go on to other resources to develop and refine your coaching skills. You may be on your first leg in a long and rewarding journey called life coaching.

Bill Graybill, D.Min., PCC, is an executive coach, trainer, speaker, adjunct professor, former pastor and best-selling author. His focus is on conflict resolution, anger management and organizational health. He currently serves as president of Peace Mentors, a non-profit organization dedicated to Redemptive Conflict Resolution.(TM) Congregations and groups of all types enjoy and appreciate his presentations, filled with solid biblical understanding and practical application, delivered with humor. Bill connects quickly with audiences and invites them to join him on a journey of resolving their conflicts God's way. Bill coaches individuals and teams in businesses and non-profit organizations. Having pastored Abundant Life Center for 35 years and over 40 years of professional experience, he brings understanding, a broad-base skill set, and passion to those he serves. As an Adjunct Faculty Member of Western Seminary, Global University and Kenya College of Ministry, Bill teaches conflict management cross-culturally from local trainings to graduate level. Bill and his wife, Dorothy, live in Albany, Oregon, with Buddy their golden retriever. They have two married sons, Dan and Mark, and four grandkids.
