Cocktail Hour Meets … L’APÉRO is the third in a series of lifestyle books exploring eating, drinking, traveling, and living—all under quarantine at home during Covid-19. Little did most expect when authors Jeremy Cooper and Andy Klausner published the very back-of-the-napkin home mixology of Cocktail Hour Meets … A PANDEMIC in July of 2020 and the lubricated historical exploration of Cocktail Hour Meets ... A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION in November 2020, that the pandemic lockdowns would just be receding in the Spring of 2021. We may not always know what day it is, but we do know there is always cocktail hour! And along with cocktail hour, this book highlights the French tradition of L’APÉRO - an early evening gathering featuring wine (or cocktails), a spread of paired hors d’oeuvres and, when not isolated at home, time spent with friends. The inspiration for this book comes from Jeremy and Andy reminiscing during the quarantine about past travels that seem so distant, and takes them back to their true loves: food, travel and wine. Cocktail Hour Meets ... L’APÉRO guides readers through the major wine regions of France, and includes stories of Jeremy and Andy’s past travels through each, 25 unique pairings of L’APERO, each highlighting a wine (and one brandy) from that region, and a complete recipe from the food pairing. A portion of all sales will be donated to World Central Kitchen – a national nonprofit founded by Chef José Andrés and his wife Patricia that uses “the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies through times of crises and beyond.”.
