Third edition (following those of 1838 and 1845). 8vo. 16 pp. Wilson (1784-1849) served as governor of South Carolina, 1822-1824 and was an ardent supporter of duelling; he argued "The Code of Honor" was "the means of saving life, but it seemed to be intended rather to regulate duels, in several of which he took part" (Appleton's). Sabin 104661. Turnbull III, p. 269. Rather persistent foxing, but a very good copy. Original printed blue wrappers. (#7633).
