GENRE: Crime Thriller / Police Procedural / Psychological Suspense

LOGLINE/HOOK:

A flooded river. A dead body. A handwritten note in a corpse's pocket that reads: "Tell Colby to stop looking. Or the next one is hers." For Detective Cherel Colby, a routine missing-persons case just turned into a waking nightmare-and the truth hits far closer to home than she ever could have imagined.

SYNOPSIS:

Thirteen-year veteran NYPD Detective Cherel Colby is no stranger to threats, but she's never had her name left on a body. When twenty-eight-year-old Miguel Williams is pulled from the Harlem River, he leaves behind a duffel bag stuffed with illicit cash and a warning meant for Cherel alone.

Partnering with her most trusted colleague, Detective Diaz, Cherel follows a trail of dirty money, shell companies, and falsified records straight into the heart of a massive, decades-long criminal enterprise active across the Bronx. But as the investigation fractures a shadowy network known only as "The Code," the case takes a devastatingly personal turn.

Confronting medical conspiracies, the sudden abduction of her teenage daughter, and a staggering betrayal by her own ex-husband, Cherel uncovers a dark secret buried sixteen years ago in a hospital delivery room. To dismantle the network and protect what remains of her family, she will have to break the rules, face her past, and hunt down a truth that will alter her life forever.
