Have you ever wondered if humanity possesses a secret "operating system"—a set of hidden instructions that help us survive, adapt, and thrive in an ever-changing world?
In his latest work, The Code of Life II, author Máté István-Mátyás takes readers on a profound journey beyond the boundaries of culture and geography. While his previous research focused on the wisdom hidden within Hungarian proverbs, this volume expands the scope to the entire world, uncovering a startling truth: cultures as diverse as the Chinese, Japanese, Arab, African, Roman, and Native American have all been pointing toward the exact same patterns for millennia.
Why does humanity keep forgetting the truth?
As the author navigates the "forest" of global proverbs, he reveals that these are not merely dusty moral lessons. Instead, they are highly compressed "data points"—survival algorithms selected by cultural evolution. They teach us a simple, yet masterfully difficult, way of operating: observe, learn, do not act rashly, recognize and correct your mistakes, and stay connected to reality.
What you will discover in this book:
-
The Collective Error-Correction Algorithm: Explore how humanity has built a mechanism to learn from mistakes and pass that knowledge to the next generation.
-
The Law of Rhythm: Discover why the modern world’s obsession with "faster" is often a system error, and why the "ripening pause" is essential for good decision-making.
-
AI and the Code of Life: A critical, fresh look at artificial intelligence. Does AI have a connection to reality, and can it master the art of the "ripening pause" to become a truly stable system?
-
The RCI Test: An interactive, practical toolkit—the Reality-Correction Index—designed to help you measure and develop your own connection to reality, rhythm, and capacity for correction.
Is the world losing its rhythm?
We live in an age of information overload, instant reactions, and polarization. Máté István-Mátyás argues that the modern world is drifting away from these ancient, stabilizing mechanisms. The Code of Life II is not a call to return to the past, but a guide to moving forward with more stability and clarity.
Whether you are seeking personal growth, a deeper understanding of social systems, or a new perspective on the future of AI, this book offers a timeless framework for those who wish to navigate the complexities of modern life without losing their way.
The spiral continues to turn. Will you find your way back to the Code?

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
