Code Name God: The Spiritual Odyssey of a Man of Science

The compelling, beautiful narrative of Code Name God is one man s rags-to-riches story and, more profoundly, the vision of a world-class physicist seeking to integrate the findings of science, religion, and spiritual quest.

Born in the impoverished Indian province of Bengal, Dr. Mani Bhaumik became a scientist and co-invented the laser technology that made LASIK surgery possible. Upon realizing that fame and fortune could not provide him with the abiding happiness that we all seek, Dr. Bhaumik began the search for a deeper understanding of spirituality.

Code Name God chronicles the amazing life of a man who is from both the East and the West and who finally discovers that happiness is an inside job.

This book s prologue is read by Academy Award-winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley.

Code Name God chronicles the amazing life of a man who is from both the east and the west, who finally discovers that "happiness is an inside job" and now invites us to join him on a cosmic dance across that vast expanse where God and the scientists, religion and faith, science and mysticism meet.

One day, Mani Bhaumik was sipping Chateau Lafite Rothschild with Hollywood celebrities enjoying the life of a self-made and successful entrepreneur. The next, he was on his knees before the enormous emptiness of that existence and searching for answers to questions he hadn't asked for a long time. The questions led straight to the root of some well-known mysteries. Einstein famously said that, "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." Code Name God attempts to elaborate on this profound truth. Dr. Bhaumik's journey through poverty, education, science, and success led to his effort to bridge the gap between modern physics, spirituality and cosmology.
