Code Name (Paperback)

Paperback. In the heat of World War II, deep behind enemy lines, there are missions so secret that even history forgot about them-until now. The second explosive installment in the Code Name series uncovers one of the most daring and covert operations in WWII-so much so that it had to be cleared for publication by the Department of Defense eighty years after the real-world mission took place. Agent Joe Kosky is a secret operative with the legendary Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the forerunner to the CIA and Army Special Forces. When he arrives to OSS Headquarters in Italy, he faces a deadly assignment, to parachute behind the Nazi and Fascist defenses into the treacherous mountains behind the Gothic Line, and ally with a ruthless partisan leader known only as "The Devil." To earn the Devil's trust and avoid his wrath, Joe must navigate the brutal world of a violent war, avoid double agents and Nazi patrols, all while risking everything to sabotage key German targets and relay crucial intelligence back to OSS Headquarters-if he succeeds, no one will know, but if he fails, the entire Fifth Army's offensive could collapse and tens of thousands of soldiers could die. Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping thriller through one of history's most dangerous battlefield based on Joe Kosky's real life mission, one that he wrote after his return from operating behind the Gothic Line. Eighty years later, Jacek "Jack" Waliszewski, a U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret found and adapted Joe's secret mission to share it with you - CODE NAME: DEVIL. This item is printed on demand.
