Although coffee has been one of the World's most popular drinks for many years, there has been much conflicting evidence in the media about the links between its consumption and the health of consumers. As a consequence there is considerable public confusion as to whether consumption of this beverage is beneficial or detrimental to health. Thus, the principal objective of this book is to provide an up-to-date assessment of the links between coffee consumption and health with an emphasis on the results of scientific investigations performed during the past 20 years.
