The Cognitive Demo: Designing Software Presentations That Match How the Brain Learns (Paperback or Softback)

Most software demos fail—not because the product is weak, but because the human brain is overwhelmed.
In a world where buyers are distracted, stressed, and drowning in information, even the best technology gets ignored if the presentation doesn’t align with how people actually think, learn, and decide.

The Cognitive Demo reveals the neuroscience behind unforgettable software presentations—and gives you a proven framework to transform your demos into clear, compelling, decision-driving experiences.

Drawing on cognitive load theory, memory science, behavioral psychology, and decades of sales experience, Jeff Mildon shows you how to:

• Capture attention in the first 30 seconds

• Prevent cognitive overload before it happens

• Build memory-anchored demo flows that stick

• Use emotional cues to accelerate understanding

• Align your message with each buyer persona

• Structure demos that buyers can retell internally

• Close with clarity, confidence, and momentum

Whether you’re in SaaS sales, solutions engineering, leadership, or onboarding, this book will teach you how to deliver demos that aren’t just watched—they’re felt, remembered, and retold.

If you want shorter sales cycles, stronger engagement, and buyers who finally “get it,” you need more than features and workflows.
You need The Cognitive Demo.
