Seventh annual Cohen directory for New Orleans (the first New Orleans directory was published for 1811). 8vo. (16, ads), xviii, (46), 311, (64, ads), [313]-366 pp. 26 steel engraved portraits of prominent New Orleans residents, wood engraved illustrated advertisements. Sabin 53347 (for the series, but noting only the issues for 1854 and 1855, without location): "[1855] contains biographies and directory of the planters of Louisiana and Mississippi." Spear, p. 227 (Library of Congress, New Orleans Public, American Antiquarian Society). Jumonville 2448 (this copy collates as Jumonville's, except for an additional 50 pages of text in the portrait section; the portraits are not mentioned by Jumonville). Thompson 627. Some foxing, tears into text on two leaves, pencil notes on verso of some portraits, damage to lower margin of one leaf (no loss of text), ink name on title page. Sound copy in a sturdy new binding. Later black buckram, gilt spine title. (#5503).
