Its contents include objectives, an overview of numismatic terms, and discussion of the roles of dealers, students, collectors and investors. It also considers how to look at a coin, where to seek advice, and how coins may be used in the classroom. | The pamphlet includes commentary on its illustrations, with coin descriptions provided in the text and references linking those descriptions to the images. The illustrations include dies used to strike hammered coins, alongside obverse and reverse dies for a shilling of James I. The accompanying explanation describes the parts of the hammered-coin dies and contrasts them with the paired "box" dies for the shilling, which kept the relationship between the two dies stable. The guide also notes differences in the number of impressions obtainable from hand-operated and mechanical dies. (LL).…
