- Book 2 of 16: John Decker Supernatural Thrillers
In a tunnel deep beneath an Alaskan mountain, a man is brutally murdered. Just one in a series of grisly deaths, it is not long before whispers grow that the Qalupalik, a terrifying creature born from centuries of superstition and fear, has come to wreak havoc on the small coastal town of Shackleton, Alaska.
With no way to stop the slayings, the town turns to disgraced ex-cop John Decker, hoping he can do what they could not. The assignment, far from his native Louisiana, might be just what Decker needs to put the past behind him. But as the bodies mount, and the town grows frantic, Decker realizes that whatever is on the loose is no mere superstition.
The bogeyman is real, and it's up to him to stop it.
Cold Sanctuary is part of the John Decker series of novels, however, each book is a standalone story and does not require you to have read the other books in the series.
What Readers are Saying:
★★★★★ Once I started reading this book, I absolutely could not stop. It has everything I love in a suspense thriller - nonstop action, chilling moments that send goosebumps down your spine, likable characters, wonderful and believable dialogue and interactions, a fast pace, and an awesome setting. And a bit of the mystique of the supernatural as icing on the cake. I haven't had the pleasure of reading the first book in this series, or any other books by this author, but you can bet he's going straight to the top of my list. – Donna Thompson, Goodreads review
★★★★★ I have been looking for books like those written by Douglas Preston/Lincoln Childs (since I devoured all of theirs) & I think I have found them! Hard to categorize.....part thriller, part suspense, part horror/supernatural, all good! – Goodreads Review
★★★★★ John Decker is a "Monster Hunter" & I loved following his hunt for this monster! One way I judge a book is whether or not I will be looking for more by the author or in the series. This is definitely one that will add Anthony Strong to my TBR list! – Beverly Laude, Goodreads Review
★★★★★ I don't usually write reviews or even read 'horror' books but stumbled across this late one night. I have not read the first book in the series (but I will now), while this is a stand-alone story for the most part it does give away spoilers to the first book so in hindsight, I would suggest reading in order. I enjoyed this book because it had copious amounts of tension and suspense but without the need for graphic violence or extreme profanity/ foul language. The writing was clever the plot good and you could relate to all the characters, the good the bad and the ugly. The lead character was strong while flawed which made him all the more believable. The 'monsters' were unique. I am looking forward to reading more in the series and hope the author continues to develop his characters. – Irish Lass, Amazon reader
★★★★★ This book was well written and I have really enjoyed this series of books. John Decker has become a proven monster hunter and I hope he continues his adventures in upcoming books. I highly recommend this book and the others in the series.- Amazon reader

About the Author
A Story Teller from the Start
Anthony's first experience terrifying an audience was when he convinced the rest of his kindergarten that a monster lived inside the school piano. They refused to enter the music room and Anthony had his first taste of the magic of story telling. Needless to say, this obsession with all things dark and scary led to many teenaged nights reading Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and his favorite English author, James Herbert. If it had werewolves, vampires, or ghosts, Anthony read it. Now, many years on, he writes his own horror action and adventure novels in the hope that he can thrill others with his own blend of chills.
