A copy -- inscribed by a crew member of the Soviet submarine K-219 -- of this detailed study of the design and construction of U.S. and Soviet submarines during the Cold War era. The Soviet nuclear sub K-219 gained prominence when it suffered a catastrophic malfunction in 1986. This copy inscribed by K-219 propulsion engineer Gennady Kapitulsky on page 169 which features the first Soviet strategic missile submarine. 407 pages, illustrated. Second Printing. Has a a highlighted section on page 174 that briefly describes a 1986 incident when a U.S. attack sub trailing Soviet Delta I SSBN bumped the Soviet craft. A disputed (and unconvincing) claim of a similar collusion was part of the K-219 saga. Otherwise no sign of previous use.
