It was one of those phone calls Air Force Special Agent Jim West never wanted to receive--an old friend calling to ask if he could drive down to Ruidoso, New Mexico to help locate his daughter who has disappeared while on a ski trip with friends. Jim found himself heading to Ruidoso even though he believed, much like the local authorities, that if she had gone missing in the mountains in December, her survival chances were slim. AUTHOR Bob Doerr grew up in a military family, attended the Air Force Academy, and then had a career of his own in the Air Force. It was a life style that had him moving every three or four years, but also one that exposed him to the people and cultures of numerous countries in Asia and Europe and to most of these United States. Award Winning Author: Bob Doerr grew up in a military family, graduated from the Air Force Academy, and had a career of his own as a Special Agent in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI). His education credits include a Masters in International Relations from Creighton University. His 28 plus years in the military sent him to 18 foreign counties and all over these United States. A full-time author, he has twenty-four published books. Bob was selected by the Military Writers Society of America in 2013 as its Author of the Year. He is an Eric Hoffer Award winner and several of his books have won medals in other competitions. Bob lives in Garden Ridge, TX, with his wife of 53 years and their ornery cat Cinco.
