Reality was never as stable as humanity believed.
Beneath modern civilization exists the Divine Code, an invisible system controlling synchronization, probability, movement, and order across the world. Hidden beneath governments, cities, and everyday life, the system quietly manipulates reality itself to maintain balance while humanity lives under the illusion of free will. Most people never notice the corrections happening around them because the Divine Code removes instability before disorder can spread.
Until the system begins to fail.
DeMarcus, a Black half-elf and half-human warrior living in Atlanta, starts noticing terrifying inconsistencies spreading throughout the city after reality itself begins hesitating in brief but impossible moments. Crowds freeze before correcting themselves. Time stutters without explanation. Entire districts begin moving with synchronization so precise it no longer feels human. As the instability spreads across Atlanta and eventually throughout Georgia, DeMarcus discovers he is not the only one capable of seeing the fractures hidden beneath the surface of the world.
Alongside Becky, a gifted white half-elf and half-human sorceress whose connection to the system allows her to sense patterns hidden inside reality, and Wesley, a powerful Black vampire whose instincts violently reject the Divine Code's control, DeMarcus becomes trapped inside a growing conflict between collapsing order and the terrifying evolution of the system itself.
The deeper they investigate the spreading synchronization failures, the more horrifying the truth becomes.
The Divine Code is not simply malfunctioning.
It is adapting.
As hidden controlled zones emerge across Atlanta, the system begins exerting direct influence over movement, emotion, and human behavior with increasing aggression. Entire sections of the city operate beneath invisible pressure capable of suppressing instability before it forms, while mysterious structures connected directly to the Divine Code rise throughout the skyline. At the same time, powerful supernatural forces tied to Heaven, Hell, angels, monsters, and the divine hierarchy begin moving behind the scenes as reality itself destabilizes.
Every disruption DeMarcus and his allies create forces the system to evolve faster, becoming more intelligent, more invasive, and more dangerous with every correction. What once operated silently beneath civilization now tightens its grip openly, manipulating human thought, emotional response, and even probability itself in order to preserve synchronization at all costs.
As alliances fracture and the synchronization crisis spreads beyond Atlanta into the rest of Georgia, DeMarcus realizes the collapse threatening reality may have never been an accident. Hidden agendas, ancient conflicts, and the growing evolution of the Divine Code push humanity toward a future where free will itself could disappear beneath absolute control.
In a world where reality can be rewritten before choices are even made, survival may no longer depend on strength alone.
It may depend on breaking the system before the system fully takes control.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
