Hardcover with dustjacket, later printing, book is in very nice shape, a remainder mark on the bottom edge and a small, faint discolored area on the top edge are the only remarkable flaws, the book is clean and tight and features a facsimile of Orwell's signature in bright gold on the front cover and the contents are fine, the jacket is faded on the spine and has two edge-chips at the top of the front panel, also a few tiny edge-tears, the jacket is clean, the original price (12.50) is present and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included, this is Volume 1 of a 4-Volume set ; 574 pages.
