About this Item
4to (27.5 cm), frontispiece with the author's photograph, XXXIV, [916] pp (preserved pagination of original papers). Harald Bohr (1887-1951), a Danish mathematician and the younger brother of physicist Niels Bohr, made significant contributions to the field, characterized by great unity. His early investigations into Dirichlet series and the Riemann zeta-function established him as one of the leading analysts of his era. The question of which functions could be represented by Dirichlet series led to his principal achievement: the theory of almost periodic functions. The first volume of Harald Bohr's mathematical writings includes 22 papers on Dirichlet series and 26 publications on the Riemann zeta-function. Preceding the volume is an English translation of a lecture delivered on his 60th birthday at the University of Copenhagen, where he reflected on his life and career. Seller Inventory # 009049
