First Edition. Ex University of California, Berkeley Library book. Usual library markings, but light wear. No DJ. From the Preface: The 247 papers which comprise these two volumes include the contributions of Dr. Hudson and his associates through June 1945. In our capacity as editors we have attempted to place the papers in groups arranged according to subjects, and then more or less chronologically within the groups. In order to preserve the historical record we have made practially no changes in the original text, or in the nomenclature of the carbohydrates and their derivatives, except in those few cases where we have clearly indicated the change and the reason. Vol. One-898pp.; Vol. Two-791pp. Errata page in back of Vol. 2 includes an additional pencilled in error. Inked on the front free page of Vol 1: Presented to Hermann O.L. Fischer by the Div. of Carbohydrate Chemistry, Am. Chemical Soc. 9/11/1958 on the occasion of the award of the Claude S. Hudson Prize.
