A collection of twelve detailed lithograph views of mid-nineteenth century Waterloo, including depictions of monuments erected following the Battle of Waterloo. In both French and English. Collated, illustrated with twelve lithographs. Lacking the folding plan of the Battle of Waterloo. Lithographs of Waterloo in this volume include depictions of the Church of Waterloo, La Montagne du Lion, the Lion of Waterloo, and Ferme de la Haye-Sainte. Undated; dated circa 1850 via the British Library. Some of these plates feature the date 1842 in the caption, meaning this cannot be the first edition of this work, which is typically dated 1840. These lithographs are the work of de Gerard. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Major losses to back strip with significant handling marks to wraps, small losses to fore edge head and tail of front wrap, and further loss to centre of head of rear wrap. Front wrap somewhat tenderly held. Internally, firmly bound. Plates lightly age toned, with the odd handling mark and spot. Lacking folding map. Good Only.…
