Collection of eight original printed ephemera from the G. E. Conkey Company of Cleveland, Ohio, namely, two advertisements for Conkey's Roup Remedy and Conkey's Fly Knocker and six duplicate certificates that can be used in exchange for Conkey's Stock Book, a book about livestock. Printed in ink (multiple colors) on light beige paper. No date, circa 1920s-1930s. Roup Remedy ad measures 3 1/2" x 6 1/4." Fly Knocker ad: 3 1/2" x 6." Each certificate: 5 1/4" x 2 1/2." Six pages (four-page ad and two-page ad) and six certificates. The ads and certificates are very clean and intact except for slight age toning. Fine copies. A collection of eight printed promotional ephemera from the G. E. Conkey Company. The Roup Remedy ad is printed on one leaf front and back. The ad encourages readers to buy Conkey's Roup Remedy to cure chicken roup so they may save their chickens in an easy and effective way. This copy says the Roup Remedy can be purchased from the Seattle Seed Company. The Fly Knocker ad is a small leaflet or brochure that folds in half vertically and is printed on all panels. This ad paints the inconvenient picture of trying to shoe a horse with flies everywhere while a hired hand tries to shoo the flies away. The ad claims Conkey's Fly Knocker is better than hiring a professional fly-swatter and thus not only gets rid of flies but also saves money. Conkey's Perfect Sprayer to apply the Fly Knocker is also advertised on the back panel. The Conkey's Stock Book certificates are printed in orange and have identical text on front and back. The certificates come in sets of three on two sheets, with perforations separating each certificate. Each certificate is a duplicate and says it is "good for one copy of Conkey's Stock Book, the best book yet on live stock.".…
