xvi, 295p. Contemporary paper covered boards with a cloth spine. Front board detached. Kept in a slipcase box with dark brown morocco spine. First American edition based on letters and documents gathered by Jared Sparks. With a contemporary signature of Lucy Ann Kellogg, New York on the title page.Some scattered foxing and an ink stain mark in the inner margin affecting a few leaves in the preface, but not the text. V shaped stain affecting the last twenty leaves and lower margin on the last leaf cut. A good copy kept in a professionally made and very attractive protective slip case. O. Rich vol II. p249.
